Basketball

The U16 team completed their four year, four trophy run in the District competition with a play-off win against Archbishop Holgates on Thursday evening. The team played some fantastic basketball from the start to run out comfortable winners. The team will now go on to represent York in the County competition next Monday.

The U13 team lost their first game of the season in the district final on Tuesday. The team went behind early on in the first half but came back strongly to run All Saints close in the final seconds. Well done to the team for the progress they have made this year.

The U12 team lost to Allerton High in the return leg of the NBA junior National competition on Wednesday. The team played well but were without a couple of players. Lewis De Souza was man of the match for Bootham.

Football

The 1st and 2nd XI teams had two disappointing results against Ampleforth on Wednesday afternoon. The 1st team lost 5-1, which did not reflect the overall game, whilst the 2nd XI lost 2-0.

Swimming

A girls and boys team visited Ampleforth College on Saturday afternoon, despite only having 13 swimmers, our team swam brilliantly and came out victorious by 246 points to 234.

Netball

On Wednesday afternoon we welcomed teams from All Saints and St Peter’s to play against our U18’s. Our team played incredibly well, fought hard and showed amazing amounts of resilience and tenacity – they won both games, 12-7 and 14-13 respectively.

St Olave’s came to Bootham on Thursday afternoon with 4 teams – U12 A&B and U13 A&B. A great spectacle, with over 50 girls playing on our courts – 3 out of 4 matches ending in victory for our girls. U12 A’s won 6-4, the B’s lost 3-2, the U13’s both proved too strong for their opposition and had very convincing wins. Well done to all who played.

We look forward to welcoming Queen Mary’s to Bootham this Saturday to play U12,13,14,15 and U16 netball.
