York Geographical Association

Another fabulous online lecture from the York branch of the Geographical Association and the Royal Geographical Society broadcast via the Bootham YouTube Channel last week.

Dr Caitlin Robinson, who lectures in Urban Analytics from the department of Geography and Planning at the University of Liverpool gave us a brilliant overview of energy inequality before drilling down into some of her own research. This uses geospatial digital information to map energy inequality at a variety of scales. She ended showing us amazing images of European and UK cities at night before and after Covid, which starkly shows our darkened city centres, but contrastingly brighter suburbs whilst we stay at home during lockdown.
