County Champions!

Basketball

The U14 team was crowned North Yorkshire County Champions on Monday. The team performed brilliantly with a 44-12 victory v St Aidan’s (Harrogate), 46-12 victory v SFX (Richmond) and 44-16 win v Ryedale. The team has worked so hard all season and deserve their success this year after narrowly missing out on silverware last year.

Swimming

The Intermediate and Senior team beat Ampleforth on Wednesday evening. Bootham swam really well in a 66-53 victory.

Football

The 1st XI lost against St Peter’s (5-2) on Wednesday. The team was missing a number of players but six U16s participated in the game.

The U12 and U13 teams had very good victories against Hull Collegiate last Saturday. The U12 team convincingly won 6-3 with Oliver Heppell scoring the goal of the game by chipping the keeper. The U13 team played out a 6-5 victory. They showed great tenacity to come back from 2-0 to win against strong opposition. Henry Sprake scored a brilliant goal from 25 yrds.

The U12 team played against a strong Manor team on Thursday evening and lost 3-0. The scoreline flattered the opposition as it was a very closely fought game.

Netball

Hull Collegiate visited Bootham on Saturday morning to play against our U12, U14 and U15 teams – 2 narrow losses for the U14 and U15’s but a fantastic win 7-5 for our U12’s. The U13’s tournament was postponed due to the weather and will now be played on Saturday 21st March.

Hockey

The U13 team played in their Area Tournament at Manor school, they played very well, only losing one match – they ended up a well earned third place.
