Charity Match Raises £1750

Family and friends of former Head Reeve Peter Woodmansey have been raising funds for Candlelighters in Peter’s memory after he was diagnosed with leukaemia and sadly passed away in late 2020. 🎗️

Over Easter, a charity football match was held on what would have been Peter’s 19th birthday in March. The match was between the two teams Peter played for – Wiggington Grasshoppers and Bootham Old Scholars. It was an even and balanced game, finishing 1-1, with Bootham Old Scholars taking home the win on penalties.

⚽ Instead of tickets sales, attendees were asked to donate to Candlelighters, and a raffle and cake sale helped bring the total raised to a brilliant £1,750.
