Bootham Proud

We are running our Bootham Proud Giving Day at the end of April. This will be our first 36 hour campaign to come together as a community. Our aims are to celebrate our pride in Bootham and raise money to support the school and our students’ futures.

We’ve been asking Bootham Old Scholars and current students to describe what makes them ‘Bootham Proud’ and there are a few words that have been used consistently: community, friends/friendship, teachers, kind/kindness, friendly and welcoming. It’s reassuring to know that generations of Old Scholars share the same feelings about Bootham as our current students.

We are particularly raising funds for:

• A music bursary in the name of Richard Burton, which we hope will be a fitting way to remember and celebrate Richard’s commitment to music at Bootham

• Additional equipment for the Fitness Suite in the Sports Centre

• Refurbishment of our boarding bedrooms

We are looking for Bootham Ambassadors to share our social media posts and spread the message about Bootham; we would love to hear from anyone who would like to be a Bootham Ambassador.
