Students at Bootham School enjoyed taking part in World Maths Day 2018.  They answered as many questions as possible in 20 different games.  The competition was organised as a collaborative event within each of the houses; Firbank, Brigflatts, Pendle and Swarthmore.

World Maths Day (WMD) is a free, fun, online competition with up to 4 million students participating worldwide. The competition measures speed in arithmetic and numeracy skills on the Live Mathletics platform and is open to all schools around the world.  Students compete online with other students and top scores are displayed on a live ‘Hall of Fame’.

Did you know that WMD actually lasts for 48 hours?

In 2010, WMD created a Guinness World Record for the largest online maths competition.
