Students at Bootham achieved 6 gold certificates, 8 silver and 11 bronze in this year’s UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. Over 260,000 students from across the UK sat the Junior Maths Challenge with roughly the top 6% receiving a gold certificate, 13% silver and 21% bronze.
Approximately 8,200 of the top students from the 260,000 taking part, are invited to sit a follow-on competition, the Junior Mathematical Olympiad or Kangaroo. We are delighted that Alexander Stark, Charles Thornton, Rowan Yin, Alice McWalter and Yiyang Xu all qualified for this. They sat the challenge paper on Tuesday 12th so now we are just waiting for the results.
