We are delighted to announce that Toby Price has been selected to represent Team GB in the modern pentathlon at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires next month. Toby is currently in his final year at Bootham studying for A-levels in Physics, Biology, Mathematics and Further Mathematics. He is also in the process of finalising his application to study Engineering at a number of top universities including Cambridge and Bath. Toby has been taking part in the modern pentathlon since the age of 12 and has competed in a number of international events, including more recently the Under 19 European Cup in Spain.

The Youth Olympic Games are an elite sporting event for young people from all over the world. The sports programme is based on that of the Olympic Games, with 28 sports featured on the summer programme and 7 on the winter programme.

The Pentathlon was the climax of the games in ancient Greece.  Since its appearance at the modern games, it has undergone a great deal of evolution.  To find out more click here.
