Representative success!

Returning after the Easter holidays provided an opportunity to hear about a number of fantastic achievements from Bootham students.

Angus McMillan helped England to a team silver medal at the ISF World Schools Cross Country Championships in Paris. Angus managed to come 17th and completed the 5.5km course around the Eiffel Tower in 16.52min.

Toby Price gained an amazing 8th place at the U19 World Pentathlon Championships in Portugal. It was a career best for Toby.

Montgomery Grenyer has been selected for the North Yorkshire cricket squad at U13 age group. This is a very competitive team to get in to and he will now play games around the country.

Tom Hayes, Mani Cobb and Finlay Coad have been selected to play for the County at U13 Basketball.

Well done to these students for their achievements!

The first Schoolrooms house competition took place on Thursday evening between Swarthmore and Brigflatts. The game was played in a good spirit with Brigflatts eventually winning by wickets after the scores were equal.

The 1st XI played against Archbishop Holgates on Thursday evening and gained a 1-1 draw. Bootham were the better team but missed a few chances in the second half. Solly Tomlin-Kent scored Bootham’s goal from the penalty spot.
