The U15 basketball team capped off an unbeaten league season with a play-off final win on the Wednesday before half term. The team had a comfortable victory against Manor to secure the trophy. The team will now go on to represent York in the County finals this evening.

After successfully reaching the County finals at York College, the U16 team came third on the Thursday evening before half term. The standard of basketball was very high with Bootham competing well in all three games they played.


The 1st XI had another win against St Peter’s 1st XI on Wednesday 20 February . The team scored 3 early goals to make life comfortable before adding a fourth in the second half. The game finished 4-0 to Bootham. Goals came from Josh Chan, Charlie Longbottom, Harry Loseby and an own goal. The team then had a very tough game on Wednesday 6 March when they faced favourites St John Fisher School (Harrogate) in the semi-finals of the County league-cup. A fantastic run ends with a defeat against one of the best eight school teams in the country this year.  Well done boys!


The U12 A & B teams played against Joseph Rowntree school on Monday 18 February – 2 great matches, ending in 2 victories for Bootham, 4-1 and 6-3 respectively. Our U18 team visited All Saint’s on Wednesday 20th, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was had by all, a great game played in great spirit, ending in a 23-8 win for our girls.  Fantastic results!


The U14 team played in their Area Tournament on Tuesday 19, 2 losses against Tadcaster and Manor, and a draw against Joseph Rowntree.
