Football

The 1st XI travelled to Leeds Grammar School last Wednesday afternoon. The team played some fantastic football against a physically strong Leeds team to run out 3-1 winners. Will Stevens, Harry Loseby and Luke Conkleton scored Bootham’s goals.

The U16 team also went away to Leeds Grammar School on Thursday evening. The team did very well to gain a 1-1 draw. Finley Richardson was outstanding in Bootham’s goal and pulled off some terrific saves.

The U12 and U14 teams travelled to Thirsk School last Monday afternoon. The 12s lost 7-2 on an 8 aside game whilst the U14s had a competitive 4-4 draw.

1st XI: 3-1 winners at Leeds Grammar School

Basketball

The U12 team continued to enjoy the junior NBA competition on Tuesday. In a round robin they managed a draw against Archbishop Holgates but narrowly lost against teams from Fulford and Sherburn.

Swimming

A joint Bootham Junior and Senior team swam against Terrington on Wednesday afternoon. There were races at U9, U10, U11 and U13. Bootham were victorious in all age groups and eventually won 136 to 104.

Girls

Netball

The U14’s A & B played against Manor on the 14th January – great matches, played in great spirit, unfortunately two narrow losses for our girls.

We visited The Mount on Tuesday 15th -a well battled draw 11-11 for the U13 team, and a brilliant 23-15 win for the U15’s.

On Monday 21st January we welcomed an U16 team from the Mount to Bootham.  A well fought match with some skillful netball played by both teams – unfortunately the opposition proved too strong on the day and it was a loss for our girls.

Last Wednesday our U18 team played against St Peter’s – a fantastic match, with a high level of skill on display. Both teams really worked hard to win the game, it ended in a 17-15 win for Peter’s.

Swimming

We visited Ripon Grammar School on Tuesday 22nd January, with our U13, U15 and Senior swimmers – a really lovely gala, with some extremely close races. All swimmers did themselves proud – the U13 and U15 teams narrowly lost but our Senior boys were victorious in their age group.
