Bootham entered their first ever show jumping event on Sunday at Bishop Burton College. Zac Edwards (Year 6) performed fearlessly to gain a fantastic second place on his horse Steady Neddy. Well done Zac!

Boys Results


The 1st XI continued their excellent run of form with another important win against Huntington School. The team played some fantastic football against a very good team to run out 5-2 winners. Goals came from Louis Otterburn (2), Josh Chan, Harry Losebt and Joe Fielding. The victory means that the team has won their mini-league in the North Yorkshire competition and progress to the quarter-final of the competition.

The U16 team were knocked out of the ISFA competition after travelling away to Newcastle School for Boys. The team had several players missing and struggled against a physically strong Newcastle team. The game finished 4-0.

Unfortunately the six games arranged for Saturday afternoon were cancelled due to water-logged pitches at Ackworth.


The U14 had another good victory on Wednesday. The team managed a 48-18 victory against Manor. The U13 team also won their game against Archbishop Holgates on Thursday. The game finished 40-8 with Will Abbas scoring 20 points.

Girls Results


The U12 A&B teams played against Archbishop Holgate’s on Tuesday 27th – both teams played really well and the results were a narrow 7-6 loss for the A team but a fantastic 6-0 win for the B team. We were due to play Huntington against their U15 and U16 teams on Wednesday but due to ill health they cancelled.


On Thursday the U12 team played in a mini 7 a-side tournament at Manor Academy – they played really well and their skills are developing all the time. They narrowly lost 2 matches, 2-0 against Fulford and 1-0 against Archbishop’s but they had a fantastic 1-0 win against Manor (Aria scored).

On Saturday, the U18 team played a team from St Peter’s – a brilliant game, full of skill and attacking play by both teams. The game was 2-2 for a long period but St Peter’s scored two very quick goals to end up winning 4-2.
