Sport at Bootham School


Bootham hosted an U14 girls 7s tournament on Wednesday afternoon. The standard of football was very good with Bootham coming third out of the nine teams involved. The girls are making really good progress – only starting to play competitively last year.

The 1st XI played really well against Huntington on Wednesday afternoon in the District league. The team moved the ball really well but were unable to convert a couple of good chances. The game finished 2-1 to Huntington.

The U13 team played some exceptional football against York High on Thursday. The team worked really hard together, with the result being a 10-1 victory. Goals from Noah (4), Zeid (3), George, Ben and Matthew. Man of the match was Leo.

The U16 team played in the English Schools competition on Thursday against Ackworth. The team dominated possession to run out 4-1 winners.


The U12 and U13 teams played against the Mount on Wednesday. The 12s were defeated 12-1 whilst the U13 had a 10-10 draw

The 1st team participated in the English National Schools tournament last Wednesday. They competed well against tough opposition but did not progress through to the next stages.
