Many thanks to everyone who supported this year’s Oxfam Pop-up Shop on Parents’ Day, we raised £470 on the day and the unsold donations were taken to the Oxfam shop on Goodramgate where they will continue to make money throughout the year. Particular thanks to Liz Brown (Head of Geography & Global Citizenship) and the WAG team who helped run the shop on the day and set it up the day before.
Liz’s model of the pop up shop has proved so successful that Oxfam have used it as the template on their school area of their website. We are extremely proud of all Liz and WAG have achieved, as are Oxfam:
“It’s wonderful to hear your group have raised an astonishing £470 for Oxfam! This is the most I have seen raised through a school pop-up shop this year which is incredible, a huge congratulations to all involved.”
As part of our global citizenship work, one of the Expeditions Days trips was to visit the Oxfam warehouse. See below some of the pictures taken that day; it really is fantastic to be so involved.
We look forward to continuing our global citizenship programme with Oxfam in the years ahead.
