It was great to see so many Old Scholars back at the weekend to play basketball, netball and football.

The netball match was played in great spirit by the Bootham U18 senior team and the Old Scholars (numbers made up by current staff and Charlotte Dean) and umpired by Lis Hooley. Victory went to the Old Scholars, by 2 goals. The basketball was a very¬†close game with the Old Scholar’s experience finally coming out on top. Most noteworthy, the football tournament was played between six teams with Bootham’s A team eventually winning.

We would love to see you all and many more for the summer rounders match!!!

Fixtures Roundup

Netball

Only one fixture this week – the U15’s took part in their round York and District Tournament on Thursday afternoon. A tough ask at the end of a busy term, the team were a little tired but played some nice netball, we didn’t end up in the top three but well done to all the team.

Basketball

The U12 had a friendly game against All Saints on Wednesday afternoon. The game was very close with the team eventually losing by 4 points. Everyone had a good run out and seemingly enjoyed the experience.

Football

Stayers vs Leavers

There was a Stayers v Leavers match played last Wednesday afternoon instead of one of the cancelled 1st XI games. The game was a thrilling affair finishing an amazing 7-7.

This Wednesday afternoon the 1st XI played in the Hull Collegiate 8 a-side tournament. Unfortunately they didn’t play to their full potential in the early stages managing a win, two draws and a narrow defeat. They did however win their last two games to come away as plate winners. The U14 team lost 4-0 against Joseph Rowntree on Wednesday.
