College students enjoyed a packed itinerary during a long weekend in Madrid. In addition to having 8 hours of intensive Spanish lessons, they visited the famous Prado museum, the Caixa Forum, the Royal Palace, the Queen Sofia museum, the Retiro Park, the Plaza Mayor and the Puerta Del Sol. They saw Easter processions, ate chocolate con churros, watched a flamenco show as well as a moving performance of Lorca’s La Casa de Bernarda Alba which is one of the A level set texts. They walked nearly 50 km over the weekend, with resilience and great enthusiasm and they were an absolute pleasure to be with. Teachers Emma Thomas and Mike Shaw were delighted with their wonderful company and great humour and were very proud to be with them.
