October 2019 will be remembered as one of the best trips we’ve made to Iceland. Our group were blessed by amazing weather and despite there being some incredibly wet weather close by to us we stayed dry every day, unless we went swimming in the geothermally heated pools!

We explored the Solheimajokull glacier, took a Super Jeep tour into the area close to the Eyjafjallajokull eruption site of 2010 and visited black basalt beaches, Geyser, bubbling mud pools, the Bridge between the Continents, the site of the first ever parliament at Thingvellir, petted Icelandic horses and, despite what the song advises, we chased plenty of water falls, from the mighty Gullfoss, to the stunning Skogafoss, to the petite Öxarárfoss and not forgetting the one you can walk behind, Seljalandsfoss.

On our last night in Iceland we were even rewarded with the Northern Lights which are never guaranteed. Well done to Colin Law for capturing the incredible photo seen above.

Thanks to everyone involved, especially Helena and Jon for accompanying the trip.
