Students from Lower Senior to College One ventured to Berlin and Krakow this Easter for a cultural tour, exploring sites of significance for Nazism, the Holocaust and the Cold War, whilst also gaining an insight into modern Germany and Poland’s rich History. Alongside thought-provoking tours of Berlin’s Cold War past and visits to the camps at Sachsenhausen, Auschwitz and Krakow’s Galicja Jewish Museum, students gained a fascinating look at German politics today with a tour of the Bundestag and a chance to see Norman Foster’s iconic dome. An evening’s Polish folklore show, complete with enthusiastic audience participation, ten pin bowling and a tour of the Wieliczka Salt Mines, a UNESCO world heritage site, completed our week, with students returning home ready for a well deserved rest.
