Journeyman Theatre Production

Saturday 10 November saw students from Religious Studies visit Friargate for a production of ‘And the beat goes on’.  An interesting experience for all as the play brought to life numerous examples of Quaker non-violent direct action through the ages. There were only 2 actors but by clever use of props and simple costume changes they managed to convey the passion and commitment of a number of little known Quakers. Some were campaigners against slavery, some were opposing the Nazi regime or militarisation in the modern age.
