‘Resident Graduate’ Opportunities - September 2014 to July 2015          Ref: Admin15/14

We are looking for a number of graduates, either completing their studies in 2014, or having graduated in the last 2 or 3 years, to play a leading role in the School's leisure activities scheme and assist with duties in boarding houses during the academic year 2014/15. We offer full board during school terms and a small remuneration.

For those seeking to undertake further studies at University after a first degree this scheme provides an excellent opportunity to get involved in the extra-curricular life of a distinguished school while studying. While it would provide useful experience for those planning to undertake PGCEs, we have found it to be difficult for such students to combine the responsibilities of a Resident Graduate with the time commitment of teaching practice.

The programme is excellent for those unsure of the way ahead and offers a year of purposeful and busy activity with youngsters. An ideal chance to do something valuable and enjoyable while having time to think!

For further details about this post please download the role description below, together with the information relating to all posts, at the top of this page.

This year we are undertaking a large project to repackage some of the collection and improve the catalogue, including the large number of photographs in the collection.

As this is an honorary role the hours are flexible but expect to be in school once a week, and at other times to suit particular needs of the School.

The post of Honorary Assistant Archivist is not salaried, but there will be an honorarium payment of £500 per annum, paid six-monthly in arrears.
