A Typical Week
At Bootham Junior we provide a nurturing atmosphere which aims to bring out the best in our pupils.

Registration begins at 8.40 for all classes and lessons continue for the oldest pupils (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) until 3.30 pm.
Of course some of our pupils will take advantage of our excellent Before and After School Care facilities.
And as at the Senior School, we all come together for our traditional Morning Meeting before lessons begin.
Regardless of when pupils arrive or leave, the school packs in a lot during a typical week:
- A range of subjects, from English and History, to Design Technology, Music and Art
- Drama and musical lessons leading to regular productions
- A wide variety of team and individual sports and plenty of opportunity to take part in regional and national tournaments
- Community work, including fundraising activities and the Mini BEAST (Bootham Environment and Sustainability Team) which campaigns for environmentally friendly practices
The Quaker influence is again apparent when silent periods at lunch time provide another opportunity for calm reflection.
Stimulating lessons, sport and leisure activities, and opportunities to get involved with the local community; our children learn, have fun, and give something back when they can. Taken together, this is a solid foundation for later life.
