The
Old Scholars Association goes back to 1879 which was the diamond jubilee
of the school’s foundation. Its founding aim was that Old Scholars should
“keep in touch with each other and promote the interests of the school”.
Bootham Magazine was founded in 1902 after the fire. Early Old Scholars
were keen to foster games; they laid the cricket square and built the
pavilion.
At every stage of the school’s development, Old Scholars have
been tremendously generous, responding positively to appeals and always
providing strong support.
