In accordance with Quaker principles decisions are recorded in Minutes agreed by those present at the meeting.


The members of the School Committee (Governors) are:
Harry Albright, Alan Ashby (Treasurer), Duncan Brereton, Meg Forrest, Patrick Gray#, Jim Hoggett*, Justin Kent#, David Laverick, Adrian Leftwich*, Dinah Peryer (Clerk), Chris Petrie, Paul Redgate, Jo Rodmell, Melanie Smith (co-opted) and Michael Stanger.

The Governing Body is known as the Bootham School Committee. 

Quaker members are nominated and appointed by Quakers in Yorkshire www.quakersinyorkshire.org.uk. The parent body nominates two members following an election, and the Old Scholars Association nominates two members. The Committee may co-opt two members. The Committee appoints a Clerk (Chair) and a Treasurer. Appointments are usually for four years, and a second term of four years may be served.


Four Committees - Education, Development and Planning, Junior School, and Finance and Estates - meet at least once each term with Jonathan Taylor (Head) and other members of staff as appropriate.


The full School Committee is concerned with policy, strategy and outcomes, and meets each term to receive reports and recommendations from these four Committees. Jonathan Taylor is present, together with Graham Ralph (Deputy Head), Sue Ratcliffe (Head of Junior School), Chris Ignatowicz (Bursar) and
Sarah O'Keeffe (Staff Representative).
