The Bootham School Trust – What's it all about?

Maintaining the school’s heritage and looking to the future: these are the principles which drive the Trust’s work.
So we look after the school's historic archive, keep a database of Old Scholar records and encourage new links within the Bootham community and beyond.
At the same time we accept grants for bursaries and donations for projects. The Trust Office looks after everything from our Victorian herbarium and Natural History collections to grants from charitable trusts and donations from individuals.
We also organise a programme of public events which are open to all, ranging from watercolour painting days to recitals and poetry reading evenings.
The School Archive is an extraordinary resource and the quality of material, which plots the path of Quaker education in England, generates a steady stream of enquiries both from Old Scholars and from academic researchers. For more information about the archive click here.
ll of the Trust’s dedicated work means we can offer resources to historians and keep in touch, as well as bring new Fellows into the fold, continue valuable project work, create new projects, and assist future students who need grants or bursaries to help them enjoy the benefits of a Bootham School education. The Trust is here to support those who feel part of Bootham’s community, be they local residents, past pupils and their parents, former employees, or those who have served the school in some way.
